Backbone
Markant introduces the Backbone: an innovative office furniture piece. This space saving total concept is a superb blend of functionality, quality and design. Detailed with precision, the Backbone is a rectangular piece, permitting four work stations to be linked. Occupying a relatively reduced footprint, the Backbone creates a spacious, quiet and easy to maintain work environment.
The Backbone distils its name from the internet, where the backbone forms the main artery to which smaller networks are connected. And connecting is exactly what the Backbone does, both digitally and physically. Digitally, all cables for data traffic and power are integrated into the one piece of furniture. And physically, for the Backbone connects staff, enhancing a structured teamwork approach whilst safeguarding privacy.
The individual user's requirements are central to the Backbone. According to the user's wishes, storage space for each work station can be adapted, extended and complimented by a choice of doors, CPU compartments and file drawers. These self contained work stations are also individually height adjustable.
The Backbone features two pedestal cabinets, connected by a top. As standard, each work station has two A6 drawers and four filing spaces, offering modular division possibilities. The Backbone is available in two colours: wenge wood and white. The pedestal cabinets are constructed of 18 mm melamine; the top of 25 mm melamine. The soft closing doors and drawers are supplied with meticulously detailed quality moving parts and runners. The Backbone can be used in combination with all other Markant furniture programmes.
The Backbone is supplied with a cable grommet as standard. A space exists between the top and the pedestal cabinets for cables and is easily accessible without tools. The Markant Wirebasket guides the cables below the top to four power-frames. These have each been supplied with two 230V points and two data points. Design lighting, extra sockets and an aluminium cable column for connection to the ceiling are available as additional accessories.
